Ever wanted to get your favorite doujinshi translated, but couldn't find anyone who would do it? Have no fear! Custom doujinshi translation from Japanese into English by the talented amateur translator, Marfisa, is here!

Marfisa is best known for her Angelique manga translations, but she has worked on fansubs of the Angelique OVAs and translations of other manga series, including Harukanaru Toki no Naka de, Apocripha/0, New Petshop of Horrors, and Juvenile Orion. She has also done many Castlevania translations, including the complete script of Dawn of Sorrow before its release in the US. (That's the entire game in less than one month!)

sending in your information

Q: How will I get my doujinshi's information to you?
A: You have two options for sending us the information.

Naturally, Marfisa will need to see your book in order to translate it. Thus, there are two options:

ONE, you can send us high quality, large scans of the doujinshi
or
TWO - you can send the doujinshi to us by mail

if you send scans:

v Scans MUST be at 150dpi as an absolute minimum. Anything smaller than that is too difficult to read and will be automatically rejected.

v Hotmail users MUST send their scans from an alternate e-mail address. We recently discovered that Hotmail automatically resizes images that are sent as file attachments without notifying the sender! Please send your scans from an alternate address to ensure that they arrive at the proper size.

if you send your doujinshi:

v You will be required to pay for shipping both TO us and FROM us back to you. You may request either first class or Priority Mail shipping for the return of your doujinshi. Naturally, you can also choose to add delivery confirmation or insurance to your package if your book is irreplaceable.

v If you do not live in the US, we will only use airmail or EMS (express) shipping to return your book to you. Postage prices start at $5.00.

v All postage costs must be paid upfront, so please be sure to tell us if you will be shipping your book so we can send you the proper information.

v Note that we will NOT replace your doujinshi or offer any other compensation if it is lost or damaged. We pack items very well (check our feedback!) but there is always a risk involved in using the postal service. If in doubt, please request insurance!

about the service

Q: What will I receive from your service?
A: You will receive one COMPLETE translation of all comic/manga pages in the doujinshi, and a SUMMARY of any forewards, afterwords, or short stories. The manga translation will include translated sound effects, muttered comments, notes written in by the author, etc, whenever possible. (Some authors have poor handwriting that is difficult to read, but in 95% of cases all extras will be translated.)

Marfisa may decide to do a COMPLETE translation of forewards, afterwords, and short stories at HER discretion.

Q: How long will it take?
Your translation will be finished within TWO WEEKS of our receipt of your doujinshi or scans. If the translation is done faster, we will send it out to you as soon as it is complete! The translation will be sent as a plain text file via e-mail as soon as it is done. If you mailed your doujinshi to us, it will be sent out during our next trip to the post office (we go every Tuesday and Friday).

In NO case will a scanlation be done, even if you send us scans of your doujinshi. You are buying the translation only; any image manipulation is up to you.

Q: I want to ship my doujinshi to you, tell me more about it.
A: If you need to send us your doujinshi, you will pay for shipping both ways. You may request any special services that you require, such as delivery confirmation or Priority Mail (for US customers) or registered mail or Global Priority (for international customers). If you do not live in the US, please note that we will only use airmail or EMS (express) shipping to return your book to you, and postage prices start at $5.00.

All postage costs must be paid upfront, so please be sure to tell us if you will be shipping your book so we can send you the proper information.

Q: What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash (sent at your own risk), money orders, or PayPal. If you plan on using PayPal, please let us know if you will be using a credit card or not, as I have two accounts - one for credit card payments, and one for bank transfer or balance payments. Personal checks and bank wire transfers are NOT accepted; please don't ask. No matter what method you choose, all payments MUST be in USD (US dollars).

Full payment must be received before Marfisa will begin translating. If you are mailing your doujinshi to us, please do NOT send it until payment has been made. Naturally, the payment can be mailed along with your doujinshi if you choose to send cash or a money order.

restrictions and price list

Q: Are there any restrictions on length or content?
A: YES. Price varies with the length of the doujinshi, and Marfisa has some personal preferences regarding content.

Marfisa's personal rules:
- NO HENTAI. NO explicit heterosexual sex. NO exceptions!
- YES YAOI. Explicit male/male sex IS allowed, and possibly encouraged. ^_^
- NO tentacles, violent non-consensual situations, bloody sex, extreme gore, or any other weird stuff that will make our hair fall out. If in doubt, please ask.

Price list:
- up to 24 pages - $15.00
- up to 48 pages - $25.00

Please ASK about anything longer. Most doujinshi are short; if something is LONG, we need to know about that ahead of time, and Marfisa will likely have a number of questions about the book (text density, etc).
